At Build Yourself Fitness our personal fitness trainers bring you back to the playground. There are no treadmills and no fancy machines. We bring in our state of the art personal fitness training equipment and use functional core exercises using stability balls, TRX, bosu (both sides up), kickboxing gear and free weights.
Darren Singer - CEO, Personal Trainer
Toronto personal fitness trainer Darren Singer an off campus intership College supervisor for Fitness and Lifestyle Management program at Humber college. He is certified in CPT, PTS, CPR, and whom is the Co-Founder and CEO of Build Yourself Fitness Inc. has had considerable success working for an in home training company for the past five years as well as innumerable personal training sessions with private clients that took place at their homes, parks and places of employment.
Born in South Africa, Darren’s family moved to Toronto in 1987. Growing up Darren dedicated his life to sports and fitness and was a lead player in sports such as basketball, tennis, soccer, ice hockey and volleyball. After secondary school he graduated at Humber College in “Fitness and Health Promotion.” In his late teens, Darren had the misfortune of a back injury which resulted in two herniated disks. In many ways this reinforced the path that Darren wanted to follow. He had been told by doctors that he would never be able to train and in fact one doctor told him that “lifting weights was like drinking poison.” But Darren’s positive attitude and love of his chosen career would not allow him to let go of his dreams. It is for this reason that Darren now has the personal training expertise required while training his clients and assisting them with their back injuries. Through his own personal experience he not only strengthened his back, but proved with his commitment and dedication that using exercise techniques can correct severe medical conditions. Darren’s philosophy is to train hard, eat smart and get adequate sleep.
Jenna Ebidia – Personal Trainer
Jenna is currently completing her Specialized Honors in Kinesiology (BA) at York University. She is currently enrolled in the Fitness and Exercise Counselling Certificate Program at York. She has volunteer experience at the Black Creek Community Health Centre in Yorkgate Mall, helping build a healthier and stronger community. She is also certified as a personal trainer specialist. She specializes in group exercise programs, individualized boot camp classes. In her high school years she competed in a variety of sports such as wrestling, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track and field, soccer and softball. In doing so, she received an Athlete of the Year award. With this knowledge and experience, she brings her fighting mentality to the presence of your own home.
Michael Rosenblat – Personal Trainer
Michael has an advanced diploma in Fitness and Lifestyle Management and will be completing his Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology from the University of Guelph this spring. While in school, Michael developed a strong background in nutrition, exercise and metabolism to help in all aspects of sport and fitness development. He is certified as a fitness consultant and personal fitness trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology and has been working as a personal trainer since 2004. Michael also competes in triathlons and has been coaching runners and triathletes of all levels and distances since the spring of 2005.
